An Italian eatery on Castle Street has announced a special fundraiser to help deliver vital aid to those affected by the recent Italian earthquake.
Veeno, which has branches across the UK, will be donating all of tomorrow’s (6 September) profits to an organisation working on the ground in Rieti – an area hard hit by the quake.
Rotaract Rieti, a branch of Rotary International, is working to supply basic necessities including first aid equipment and personal hygiene supplies alongside batteries and torches in order to make life more comfortable for survivors in the aftermath of the earthquake.
Profits from sales in each of the firm’s eight cafés as well online sales from www.theveenostore.com on 6 September will be sent to Rotaract Rieti to provide support.
There have been 294 confirmed fatalities following the earthquake which struck central Italy in the early hours of 24 August.
