Costa Coffee is opening its first branch in Kirkby next month.
The hot beverage chain is launching a store on St. Chad’s Parade, which is in the process of a transformation under regeneration plans for the town centre.
Costa’s Kirkby shop will span 2,700 sq ft and include indoor and outdoor seating areas and an express counter for customers after a hot drink on the move.
A planning application for the coffee shop has been submitted to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Costa aims to open the store in March.
Regeneration specialist St. Modwen, which acquired Kirkby town centre in November 2015, is working closely with the council on the transformative project and has previously attracted Reel Cinemas to the development to run its upcoming picture house.
Mike Matthews, Kirkby town centre manager, says: “St. Modwen is delighted to welcome Costa Coffee to Kirkby town centre.
“We are confident that Costa will complement the diverse range of local retailers we have in the town centre; demonstrating our commitment to not only securing national brands but also looking after local businesses; which we know are of vital importance to the success of our town centre.”
