Liverpool dance company Movema is launching a new studio at the former Cains Brewery next month following a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Movema World Dance Studios, which includes two dedicated spaces for classes, an office, meeting room and kitchen facilities, will open its doors on 8 August.
Situated on the top floor of the Cains Brewery Courtyard, the venue will play host to a varied programme of classes, including Zumba, West African dance, contemporary dance, Bollywood and yoga.
Movema director Ithalia Forel, says: “We’re delighted to be opening a dedicated world dance studio in Liverpool. Having our own venue has been a big dream of ours for a long time and we want to welcome all artists to join us.
“We might only be a small non-for-profit company, but we punch above our weight and we’re thrilled to be entering an exciting new chapter in Movema’s story.”
Movema World Dance Studios will be open Monday to Thursday between 10pm and 6pm and its facilities will be available for hire.
The studio’s launch will be followed by a free World Dance summer dance camp lead by the group’s youth project Unlock the Box, which runs from 15 to 19 August between 10am and 1pm.
