Popular burger chain Five Guys is set to open in Liverpool ONE.
It will be the American brand’s second Liverpool venue and replaces the outgoing Cafe Rouge, which announced its closure earlier this week.
Five Guys will open a 175-cover restaurant on The Terrace in the summer, joining the likes of Wagamama, Pizza Express and GBK.
First launched in Virginia in 1986, Five Guys has more than 1,200 different branches across the United States and 31 in the UK including one in the Trafford Centre and one here in Liverpool at Queen Square.
The opening of the Queen Square branch was the second most successful in the chain’s history with over 10,000 sandwiches being sold in the first week alone.
Miles Dunnett from Grosvenor Europe, says: “The signing of Five Guys on The Terrace is another great outcome of our strategy of actively managing Liverpool ONE’s offer to ensure we provide the very best mix for visitors, be they living in Liverpool, the wider North West region, or the growing number of UK and international tourists.
Neville Mailing, head of property at Five Guys, adds: “Securing a location on The Terrace at Liverpool ONE fulfils a long-held ambition for Five Guys. We are in a prime location in one of the UK’s prime cities.”
In July 2016, Your Move reported Five Guys was planning to open a new restaurant on Bold Street – it’s not known at this stage whether it plans to move ahead with this branch or not.
