Structural Decisions

 We have just moved into a property that needs a considerable amount of work. We are taking our time and have decided to work on each room separately. The hallway is where we would like to start as the staircase looks really dated. We have a limited budget and don’t want to do any major structural work; could you give us some ideas on how to refresh the look of a staircase?

Kooky Quirks

 Three years ago we splashed out on a new bathroom and we opted for a white Victorian bathroom suite. I accessorised everything in white, but I now want to add some colour into the room but just don’t know how to go about it or where to start; do you have any suggestions?

My wife has at last found the perfect wallpaper for the lounge. Of course it’s the most expensive paper we have looked at. I really feel that we are stretching our budget to the limit and that the paper is too expensive. What would you suggest we do if you were in this position?   

Blinding Idea

 I live in a great apartment in the city centre. My bedroom has floor to ceiling windows on two sides which, when my blinds are open, has the most amazing view of the city, which I love .The problem I have is, that when the blinds are closed the room looks like a white box. I’m a single guy, living by myself, so could you please suggest a easy solution, to help me get out of the white box!

Outdoor Ideas

 I’m looking for some cushions that we could use on our outdoor furniture this summer. Would you suggest buying some to use as scatter cushions? Also could you recommend anybody that sells giant cushions as I would like to buy some of these for our children to relax on?

Conservatory Conundrum

We have recently brought a Victorian house. One of the main reasons we loved the property so much was the double –fronted conservatory which was added by the previous owners about ten years ago. The effect is brilliant it’s a contemporary structure that really works well with the traditional theme of the rest of the house. The problem is that it is now looking a bit tired. The UPVC framework is looking shabby, can we paint it?

I’m looking or wallpaper for my living room. The room doesn’t get a lot of natural light, which doesn’t really bother me as I spend most of my time in there in the evening. I am looking for a paper that is dramatic, yet not too contemporary. I’d like it ideally to have a combination of colours which would help me co-ordinate it with other soft furnishings in the room. I would love it to look wonderful in candlelight.
