New Woolton Village cocktail bar nears opening

A new cocktail bar is set to open in the heart of Woolton Village next month.

Work is currently underway to renovate a former beauty salon opposite the Elephant Pub into ‘The Pickled Olive’.

According to owners Kat and Elliott, the new venue will have a modern contemporary feel combined with some original features of the old cottage, in a nod to Woolton’s heritage.

Co-owner Kat, who has lived in the area all her life, says: “We want The Pickled Olive to fit in with the growing vibrancy of Woolton Village.

“I think it’s amazing how popular our village is and how welcoming it is is to new independent businesses.”

The Pickled Olive will specialise in serving classic and contemporary cocktails alongside an “evolving wine and beer offering” which will be rotated monthly.

A selection of olives, nuts and pickled treats will also be on the menu.

Plans for new venue, which is expected to open in the second half of February, were given the green light by Liverpool City Council’s planning committee last November.
